Those wanting to find out about Vietnam's flora and fauna will find a trip to Cat Tien National Park a rewarding experience. Located 160 km from Ho Chi Minh City, Nam Cat Tien is reported to have 600 varieties of plants, 240 types of birds and 50 species of mammals, including the one-horn Javan rhinoceros, one of several endangered mammals from Vietnam listed in the World Red Book. It is a four-hour drive to the Cat Tien National Park from Ho Chi Minh City. Once here we enjoy a walk through the park discovering the diversity of Nam Cat Tien's wildlife. Accommodation is at a guesthouse inside the park.

Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City - Nam Cat Tien
Leaving Ho Chi Minh City at 8 AM, travel up northern city long Highway 1 then branching off National Highway 20 that leading us to a former volcanic crater, known as Lava tubes. Crossing the Dong Nai River to enter the Cat Tien National Park enables visitors begin their wildlife experience. After about 3, 5 hours we arrive at the Cat Tien National Park, we check in and follow by lunch. In the afternoon we start walking 8km along the ecologic route: sites of Lagerstroemia Ovalfolia (Bang Lang), Tetrameles nudiflora (Tung), Cycas rumphii (Thien Tue), Ancistrolandus Tectorius (Trung quan), Afzelia cyclocarpa (Go). Then we transfer back to the center for having dinner. At night around 8.00 PM our Jeep will transferus to Ta Lai buffer zone for animal spotting (view animals at night).

Day 2: Nam Cat Tien - Ho Chi Minh City
9 km transfer by jeep inside the park to junction, where we turn off the main route for 5km trekking to Crocodile lake station. A short break at the lake watching tower, then trek to the main road again. Jeep picks up and transfers back to the park center. Check out the room. Lunch in the park before leaving; take ferry crossing the river then heading back to Ho Chi Minh City by vehicle.

Breakfast - Breakfast is usually at the hotel and it would be a western style buffet or continental breakfast. We try to ensure that a choice of western and Vietnamese breakfasts are supplied, however there may be only Vietnamese breakfast is prepared in some remote places.
Lunches - Lunches are normally arranged at the Vietnamese restaurants near the scenic spots. Your tour guides will order food according to your appetite. Most are Vietnamese dishes, and some are modified to fit westerners' tastes. Drinks are normally not included in the meal.
Dinner - Same as lunch. If you prefer to not eat Vietnamese, Viet Vision Travel suggests you have dinner on your own. Your local tour guide can recommend some good western restaurants in the area.
