Vietnam Beaches

Vietnam's coast-line stretches the entire length of the country, almost 3000km. Stunning white sandy beaches fringed by coconut palms and lapped by the warm South China Sea offer peace and tranquillity. In the past few years a small selection of international class hotels have been built along this otherwise undeveloped coastline. These resorts equal many of their rivals in more popular destinations yet without the crowds.

Nha Trang has a six kilometre main beach of white sand, flanked at either end by mountains and a cultural backdrop that features relics of the ancient Cham Kingdom. Dozens of reportedly pristine diving and snorkelling locations lie amongst its 71 islands. The day can be spent exploring some of the islands by boat or relaxing on the beach. There are a large choice of hotels and restaurants.

Phan Thiet - Mui Ne Beach is a three-hour drive north of Ho Chi Minh City and offers long stretches of sandy palm fringed beaches. This tranquil area is home to small communities of fisherman. Only recently starting to be developed there is a small choice of two-four star properties and an international golf course.

My Khe Beach runs from the base of the Hai Van Pass to Hoi An in central Vietnam. It was made famous in 1965 when the US Marines landed there to officially start their occupation of Southern Vietnam.
