Halong Bay knows as one World heritage site, recognized by UNESCO and situated in the Gulf of Tonkin. The Cua Van fishing village was Journeyetc.com – a travel sites, added to the listed of 16 most beautiful ancient villages in the world (2012). Criteria for selecting the villages appear in this list as they have quaint, charming beauty, and preserve the traditional culture characteristic. With the policy to return the landscape and environment for the World Natural Heritage Halong Bay, June ,2014, Halong City displaced fishermen fishing villages on lands. However, Cua Van fishing village still preserve and conserve tourist services, including 12 floating houses (classes, cultural houses and even some new floating houses are suitable for eligible fisherman ).

At Cua Van floating fishing village, with more than 300 households are living mainly by fishing. The people in here build floating houses near the edge of rocks islands.
Van Chai fishing village located far from lands near many cliffs as the sea valley. In there , many floating houses stand adjacent to each other. No noisy honking as on lands, you can only hear the sound of fishermen call each other to ask and sound of water, wave and fish .
From generation to generation, they live in Van Chai fishing village on the boat and attached to the sea. They considered that the boat and the sea are their house , they stick to Halong bay in both soul and body. As a reason why, children from 4-5 years old can hold the paddle and swim .
In the family fishermen on the bay, all the members were out to sea. Young children get bait to drop, slightly larger convertible paddle, drag nets . When they are mature, they get married they have duty as their parents. They sail, spread nets and teach the child to catch fish …
The conditions that caused the fishermen live clustered together and attached to the sea. Every business activity, living, spiritual and cultural activities all their lives , from birth until die took place on the water environment.
Nowadays, Cua Dai Floating Village become special destinations to attract many tourists discover local lives as well as admire natural beauties of one World Heritage sites in Vietnam – Halong Bay.
