Day 1. Arrival in Laos – Luang Prabang (D)
Your Viet Vision Travel guide will greet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. After lunch, your bikes will be awaiting for your trip along the Nam Khan River to the jungle-enclosed Elephant Camp. Join your mahout (elephant handler) on the back of one of these magnificent animals and travel through the woods to the spectacular Tad Sae waterfall. Return to Luang Prabang and participate in a traditional Baci ceremony, where the locals will offer you best wish and safe travels on your Laos adventure. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 2. Enjoy Luang Prabang & around (B, L)
Take a city tour, starting with visits to some of the town’s most spectacular temples. After lunch, continue to the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre where you can learn about the various ethnic groups and cultures living in Laos. As the day comes to a close, climb to the top of Mount Phousi for panoramic views of the city and wander amongst the stalls of the evening hill tribe market. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 3. Enjoy Luang Prabang & around (B, L, D)
Wake up early to see the daily procession of monks as they gather to collect the alms from local residents. Then, fun hands-on activities wait to further your understanding of the Laos culture including a cooking class where you will be introduced to delicious Lao cuisine and a visit to a textile centre where you can try your hand at weaving, silk spinning, and dyeing. Should you wish, join the locals for a game of petanque before setting off on a sunset Mekong River cruise, where dinner and a traditional performance await. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 4. Luang Prabang – Kamu Lodge (B, L, D)
Travel up the Mekong River to the Pak Ou caves where thousands of Buddha statues fill the limestone grottos. Continue up the river to Kamu Lodge, an eco-lodge set amongst a traditional Kamu village. Here you will have the chance to participate in various activities of the local people such as rice planting, gold panning, jungle trekking, and fishing with local techniques. Overnight at Kamu Lodge.

Day 5. Kamu Lodge – Luang Prabang (B, L)
Spend the morning at your leisure enjoying the surroundings of the Kamu Lodge before returning downstream to Luang Prabang. Along the way, stop at Ban Xang Hai village where you can see the villagers making traditional rice wine and then cycle back to Luang Prabang. In the afternoon, your family will have a chance to make a difference in the local community as you visit the Big Brother Mouse shop to help distribute English and Lao language books to an underprivileged village in the area. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 6. Luang Prabang – Departures (B)
If time allows, visit the Heritage Information Center to learn about the projects underway aimed at developing a sustainable approach for the conservation and preservation of Luang Prabang.
